Who’s
counting
on us
Our oceans are home to roughly 228,450 known species of marine life. However, scientists estimate that 91% of the ocean’s biodiversity has yet to be classified. The declining health of marine ecosystems could mean that many species will go extinct before we ever get the chance to discover them.
How we make a difference
The Fondation Vilebrequin collaborates with a network of individuals and organizations within the scientific community who share our desire to accelerate the movement toward a more sustainable future. We offer rewards and financial assistance to local and global actors working to monitor and protect marine life. We also commit to a policy of total transparency with respect to our donations and the organizations we choose to support. In so doing, the Fondation Vilebrequin hopes to inspire and facilitate the kind of behavioral changes that will empower all of us to live more responsible and sustainable lives.
Caring
At the Fondation Vilebrequin, we are committed to accelerating the movement toward a more sustainable future, so that the oceans we love today will be the oceans our children cherish tomorrow. The protection and conservation of marine wildlife is one of our priorities.Read more about Te Mana O Te Moana
Going
local
We support local marine conservation projects dedicated to ocean restoration and cleanup. These initiatives empower communities to do their part in safeguarding marine ecosystems and wildlife. We also promote and participate in the creation of networks of committed actors who are capable of leading these local initiatives on behalf of the Fondation.Read more about Te Mana O Te Moana
Research
The Fondation funds research and projects aimed at monitoring the ocean’s biodiversity, particularly local research initiatives that protect and monitor native wildlife. We want to work to create a network of young researchers and scientists.Read more about Te Mana O Te Moana
